Cedar Creek Reservoir, better known as Cedar Creek Lake, is located only 50 miles southeast of downtown Dallas in Henderson and Kaufman Counties.  It is about an hour drive from Downtown Dallas.  The lake covers a surface area of 34,000 feet, has a maximum depth of 53 feet, and 220 miles of shoreline.

Cedar Creek Lake Amenities And Activities

The extensive amenities and activities available at Cedar Creek Lake draw visitors from all over Texas. The main draws are the usual lake activities; fishing and boating.

Fishing

Cedar Creek Lake is stocked with catfish, white bass, and hybrid striped bass. There are plenty of fishing guides available to show you the best spots for catching fish. If you prefer to go out yourself, look for coves in the lower third of the lake where the weeds are submerged or for submersed islands across from the confluence of Clear and Caney creeks.

Boating

There are six full-service marinas on Cedar Creek Lake containing stores, restaurants, boat rental, and dry storage. Boaters can enjoy secluded coves to swim and enjoy the day. Cedar Creek Lake gets pretty crowded in the spring and summer months, so prepare for some rougher water and crowded boat ramps.

Camping
